Luma – Privacy Policy

Last updated: October 2, 2026

Your photos stay on your device. Luma organizes your library locally, and you decide what to remove.

1. About Luma

Luma: Photo Cleanup (Android package app.luma.photocleanup; iOS bundle com.arslan.luma.photocleanup) is provided by M Arslan Asghar. It helps you review photos and videos and remove only files you choose. You do not need an account.

2. Photos, videos and device permissions

Luma requests photo and video library access before scanning. With your permission, it reads media and metadata such as filenames, capture dates, dimensions, duration and file sizes to organize your library, display previews and help you review files. It also reads available device storage.

This processing takes place on your device. Luma does not upload your photos, videos, thumbnails or media metadata to the developer or to an advertising or purchase provider. Luma does not request access to your contacts, microphone or precise location.

You can deny or revoke permission in Android or iOS Settings. Without permission, library scanning and cleanup cannot work. Limited access includes only media you share; full library access is required for Luma’s deletion verification.

3. Deletion and locally stored information

You choose files and review your selection before deletion. Android or iOS may ask you to confirm removal. Deleted media may remain in your device’s Trash or Recently Deleted folder and continue using storage until that folder is emptied according to your device’s rules.

Luma stores cleanup history locally, including dates, numbers of files removed and their known total size. It also stores an ad-frequency counter locally. The media index used for review is held in app memory. Luma does not maintain an online copy of your library or cleanup history.

Local app data remains until you clear app storage or uninstall Luma, subject to your device’s backup and restore settings. Clearing app data does not delete your remaining photos or videos. We cannot restore media you have deleted.

4. Advertising, analytics and purchases

iOS version 0.2.0: Advertising, analytics and in-app purchases are disabled. The iOS app does not collect or transmit personal information off your device, including media, metadata, usage analytics or advertising identifiers. Photo review and cleanup history remain on your device. The provider practices below apply to the Android app only.

Starting with Android version 0.2.0, the free version uses Google AdMob. Google may process your IP address (including approximate location), device and advertising identifiers, ad interactions, and diagnostic information to deliver, measure and protect ads. Where required, we present Google’s consent form before requesting ads. You can revisit available advertising privacy choices in Luma’s Settings. Luma Pro removes ads while your entitlement is active.

On Android, optional Firebase Analytics is off by default. You can enable or disable it in Settings. When enabled, Google receives basic app usage events such as screen names, app version and device information, together with an analytics installation identifier. Luma disables advertising-ID collection and advertising personalization for its analytics integration. Analytics events do not include your media, filenames, searches, asset identifiers or cleanup history. Disabling analytics stops collection and resets the local analytics identifier.

Google Play processes subscription payments. RevenueCat validates purchases, restores access and manages subscription status using an anonymous app user identifier, purchase history, transaction identifiers, entitlement status and related device information. Luma does not receive your full payment card information. You can manage or cancel subscriptions through Google Play; cancellation does not itself remove local app data.

These providers receive only information needed for their services, and may retain it according to their policies and legal requirements. See Google’s Privacy Policy, Firebase Privacy and Security and RevenueCat’s Privacy Policy.

5. Collection, sharing and support

Luma does not operate a media-upload server or sell your photos and videos. Your media and cleanup history stay on your device. On Android, advertising, optional analytics and subscription providers process the limited data described above over encrypted connections. Ad delivery and measurement may constitute sharing under applicable privacy rules.

If you email us, we receive your email address and information you choose to provide. We use it to respond and resolve your request. Please avoid sending private media unless needed for support. Support messages are kept only as needed to handle the issue, maintain relevant records or meet legal obligations; contact us to request deletion.

6. Your choices and privacy requests

On iOS, you can change photo permissions in Settings or remove locally stored app data by uninstalling Luma. On Android, you can change photo permissions or clear local app data in Android settings, disable optional usage analytics in Luma Settings, revisit advertising privacy choices where available, and manage subscriptions in Google Play. You may contact us to request access to, correction of or deletion of personal information you provided through support. Rights available to you depend on applicable law. We do not have remote access to your device library, so changes to that library must be made on your device.

7. Security

On-device media processing limits the need to transmit your private files. Your device’s lock, permissions and backup settings help protect locally stored data. No storage or communication method is completely secure. Please use device security controls and keep backups of media you want to retain.

8. Children’s privacy

Luma is a general photo-management utility and is not specifically directed at children. We do not knowingly collect children’s personal information. If you believe a child has provided personal information through support, contact us so we can address it.

9. Changes to this policy

We may update this policy when app functionality or data practices change. The date above identifies the latest revision. Material changes will be communicated through the app or its store listing where appropriate.
