PageTwin Privacy Policy
PageTwin is a Chrome extension for capturing and comparing website screenshots. This policy describes the data PageTwin accesses, how it is used, and your controls.
Data processed on your device
When you request a capture, PageTwin processes the selected page's screenshot, URL, capture time, viewport dimensions, zoom, device pixel ratio, and scroll position. Screenshots can contain any information displayed on that page, including personal or sensitive information. PageTwin also stores the project names, review notes, ignored regions, and review status you create.
This information is stored locally in the extension's browser storage (IndexedDB). PageTwin does not transmit screenshots, URLs, notes, or project data to the publisher or a cloud service. It does not run background browsing-history tracking, advertising, analytics, or a licensing service. No account is required.
Full-page capture and permissions
activeTab permits access to the page you select when you invoke the extension. scripting reads page geometry and readiness and temporarily scrolls the page and adjusts fixed/sticky elements and animation styles for full-page screenshots. PageTwin restores the original scroll position and temporary styles after capture or cancellation. The extension does not request persistent access to all websites.
Scrolling a page may cause that website to load its own images or other resources. Those requests are governed by that website's policies. PageTwin does not send captured content to that website.
Exports and sharing
You can export HTML reports and JSON backups. These files contain screenshots and related comparison data, including URLs and notes. Files are downloaded to your device. PageTwin does not share them automatically; you decide whether and with whom to share them.
Retention and deletion
Saved comparisons remain in your browser until you delete them, clear extension/browser storage, or uninstall the extension. Browser storage management can also remove data. Delete individual comparisons in the workspace. Keep a backup of anything you need to retain. Removing browser data does not delete reports or backups you previously downloaded; delete those files separately.
No sale or unrelated use
The publisher does not sell or transfer PageTwin capture data, use it for advertising, or use it to determine creditworthiness or lending eligibility. Data accessed through Chrome APIs is used only to provide the screenshot comparison features requested by you. PageTwin's use of information received from Google APIs adheres to the Chrome Web Store User Data Policy, including the Limited Use requirements.
Support
For privacy questions or support, email arslan8122@gmail.com. If you email us, we receive your email address and any information you choose to include and use it to respond. Do not send sensitive screenshots unless needed for your request.
Changes to this policy
Updates will be published on this page with a revised effective date. Any future change that involves sending comparison data off-device will be disclosed before that functionality is introduced.
