PDF Sign – Privacy Policy

Last updated: July 29, 2026

PDF Sign is an offline-first app for iOS and Android. Your documents are processed entirely on your device and are never uploaded to us or to anyone else. We do not require an account and we do not sell personal information.

1. Information We Collect

PDF Sign does not collect personally identifiable information (PII) directly. The app has no account, no login, and no server of our own.

Third-party services embedded in the app do collect certain device and usage data, described in sections 3 to 5 below.

2. Your PDF Files and Signatures

All PDF processing — opening, placing signatures, merging, splitting, rotating, compressing, watermarking, encrypting, converting and exporting — happens entirely on your device. No file content is uploaded to any server or third party.

Saved signatures are stored locally on your device only and can be deleted at any time from My Signatures in the app.

Exported PDFs are saved to the location you choose on your device. The app does not retain any copy beyond what you keep.

Document scanning and text recognition (OCR): when you scan a page with the camera or select an image, text is extracted using Google ML Kit's on-device text recognition. The captured image and the recognized text stay on your device and are not sent to Google or to us. Scanned images are not retained by the app beyond the document you create from them.

3. Advertising (Google AdMob)

The free version of PDF Sign is supported by ads served by Google AdMob. This is governed by Google's Privacy Policy.

Ad formats used in this app:

No ads are displayed on or near the signing canvas.

Data AdMob may collect for advertising purposes:

Consent (EEA, UK, Switzerland): you will see a consent prompt on first launch, powered by Google's User Messaging Platform (UMP). You may choose personalised or non-personalised ads, and you can change your choice at any time from the privacy options in the app's settings.

App Tracking Transparency (iOS): on iOS, the app may ask for permission to track using Apple's App Tracking Transparency framework. If you decline, advertising continues but is non-personalised. You can change this at any time under Settings → Privacy & Security → Tracking.

Opting out of personalised ads: on Android, visit adssettings.google.com or Settings → Google → Ads. On iOS, use the Tracking setting above.

Ads are removed entirely if you purchase the Remove Ads unlock (section 4).

4. Purchases (RevenueCat, Apple, Google)

PDF Sign offers an optional one-time purchase that permanently removes advertising. It is currently available on iOS only; the Android version is fully ad-supported and offers no purchases. Payments are processed by Apple (App Store), or by Google (Play Store) should the purchase become available on Android. We never see or receive your payment card details.

To manage entitlements across devices and reinstalls, the app uses RevenueCat. RevenueCat receives:

See RevenueCat's Privacy Policy, Apple's Privacy Policy and Google's Privacy Policy.

5. Analytics (Google Firebase)

The app includes Google Firebase Analytics, which collects aggregated, non-identifying usage and stability information such as app opens, screen views, device model, operating system version, and approximate region. This helps us understand which features are used and where the app fails.

Firebase Analytics does not receive the contents of your documents or signatures. See Firebase's Privacy and Security information.

6. Third-Party Services Summary

7. Children's Privacy

PDF Sign is not directed at children under the age of 13 and we do not knowingly collect personal information from children. Ad content rating is set to General (G), and child-directed treatment is disabled.

8. Your Rights

Depending on where you live, you may have rights to access, correct, or delete personal data held about you, and to object to certain processing.

Because we operate no servers and hold no account data, most of your data is either on your device or held by the third parties listed above. You can:

9. Data Security

Because PDF Sign does not transmit your documents and holds no personal data on servers we control, your files remain protected by your own device's security controls. Passwords you set when encrypting a PDF are applied to the file itself and are never stored or transmitted by the app; if you lose such a password, we cannot recover it.

10. Changes to This Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. Changes are reflected by the "Last updated" date at the top of this page. Continued use of the app after a change constitutes acceptance of the updated policy.
