Privacy Policy

At a glance

KitTally stores your equipment records on your device. You choose when to export or share them. The iOS subscription release uses RevenueCat and Apple in-app purchases, with advertising and usage analytics disabled. Android monetization builds use Google Mobile Ads, RevenueCat purchases, and optional Google Analytics for Firebase. No KitTally account is required.

1. Who this policy covers

This Privacy Policy explains how Arslan ("we", "us") handles information in KitTally: Equipment Tracker ("KitTally") and when you contact us. It covers the iOS and Android app configurations described here as of the date above.

Developer: Arslan
Privacy and support contact: arslan8122@gmail.com

2. Information you enter in KitTally

The app processes the information you choose to record, including:

This information is used to organize your equipment, track availability, record handovers and returns, generate reports and restore backups. It is stored in the app's private device storage. KitTally does not upload your equipment database or photos to a server operated by Arslan, and does not offer automatic cloud synchronization.

Only record personal information about someone else when you are authorized to do so. Avoid putting unnecessary sensitive information in notes or photos.

3. Permissions and device features

The app does not request access to your contact list, precise location or microphone for its equipment-recording features. You can manage permissions in iOS or Android Settings.

4. Exports, sharing and operating-system backups

When you export a PDF or backup, the file may contain equipment details, recipient information, notes, serial numbers and, where included by the export, photos. KitTally sends the file to another app or destination only through the export or sharing action you initiate. The recipient, storage service or sharing app then handles that copy under its own policies.

KitTally backup files are not encrypted by KitTally. Store and share them carefully. We cannot remove copies from another person's device or a service you selected.

Your operating system’s backup, device-transfer or restore features may copy app data according to your device, account and manufacturer settings. This is separate from KitTally’s manual export feature. Review your iCloud, device backup or Android backup settings and the relevant provider’s policy.

5. Advertising, purchases and analytics

The Android monetization release uses Google Mobile Ads and its consent service to display ads to Free users. Ad requests depend on privacy choices and confirmed subscription status. Google may process device identifiers, IP addresses, ad interactions and diagnostic information to provide, measure and protect advertising. Pro access removes ads. Where available, use Privacy choices in Settings to review advertising choices.

In subscription-enabled builds, RevenueCat and the applicable store (Apple App Store on iOS or Google Play on Android) process product identifiers, purchase tokens, subscription status, transaction information and an app-generated anonymous identifier to validate purchases, manage subscriptions, restore Pro access and measure subscription revenue. Payment details are handled by the store. Deleting local records does not cancel a subscription.

On iOS, advertising and Firebase Analytics are disabled. Optional Android usage analytics uses Google Analytics for Firebase. Collection starts only when you enable usage analytics in Settings, and you can turn it off there. It measures app sessions, screen categories, device/app information and ad performance. Firebase uses an app instance identifier for measurement. KitTally does not send equipment names, serial numbers, notes, borrower details, photos, search text or report content to Analytics. Analytics advertising-ID collection and advertising personalization are disabled. Turning collection off stops future analytics collection; previously received data may remain subject to Google's retention settings.

Equipment records and photos are not supplied to advertising or analytics providers. Older releases and platforms without these integrations may have fewer online features. See Google’s Privacy Policy and RevenueCat’s Privacy Policy.

6. Support messages and this website

If you email us, we receive your email address, message and any attachments you send. We use these to respond and investigate the issue. Do not send a full backup unless it is needed and you intend to share its contents. Our email provider processes the message as part of providing email service.

These policy pages contain no analytics scripts, advertising or tracking cookies added by Arslan. The website hosting provider may process normal request information, such as IP address, browser information and access time, to deliver and secure the pages. These pages are hosted on Netlify; see the Netlify Privacy Statement.

7. Retention and deletion

Local records remain on your device until you remove them or erase the app's data. Archiving a kit does not delete its records, and historical records or recovery copies can retain previously entered information.

To erase the app's local records, open Settings → Delete local data → Delete all local data and confirm. This removes kits, handovers, photos stored by KitTally, drafts and recovery data, and cancels app reminders. You can also delete the app on iOS (rather than offloading it) or clear app storage through Android Settings. Deleting a KitTally copy does not delete the original photo from your photo library.

Exported PDFs, manual backups, shared files and operating-system backups must be deleted separately from their storage locations. A later restore can bring backed-up records back. We cannot remotely access or delete your local equipment database.

Support correspondence is retained only as long as reasonably needed to handle your request, follow-up issues, legal obligations or disputes. You may ask us to delete it; where retention is legally necessary, we will explain that when applicable. There is no KitTally account to delete. Deleting app data will not cancel a store subscription.

8. Security and your choices

We rely on the operating system's app storage protections and take reasonable care with information you send us. No device or transmission is completely secure. Protect your device with a lock, maintain backups and restrict access to exported files.

Depending on where you live, you may have rights to access, correct, delete or obtain a copy of personal information, object to certain processing, or complain to your local data protection authority. You can manage local records directly in the app and contact us about information held in support correspondence. We may need to verify a request before acting on it.

Core on-device processing supports the functionality you request. Where applicable law requires a legal basis for information we receive, support processing is based on responding to your request and our legitimate interest in resolving issues; legal retention is based on applicable obligations. Optional permissions remain under your control.

9. Children

KitTally is a general equipment-management tool and is not designed specifically for children under 13. We do not knowingly solicit personal information from children under 13 through support. If you believe a child has sent personal information to us, contact us so we can address it. Local records remain controlled by the person using the device.

10. Changes and contact

We may update this policy when the app or its data practices change. The date at the top identifies the latest revision. Material changes will be communicated in the app or store listing where appropriate, and additional consent will be requested where required.
